PERFORMANCE OF TERNARY CEMENT MORTAR USING STEEL SLAG, FLY ASH, AND METAKAOLIN

Green mortar is a that environmentally friendly and uses waste materials or by-products to reduce CO2 emissions are produced during cement production. This study aims produce new type of green by using ternary mixes with acceptable fresh hardened properties. The used were metakaolin (10-20%), slag (15-30%), fly ash (10-20%). experimental work was divided into two steps. Firstly, replaced various percentages 10%, 15%, 20%, then the optimum percentage having highest compressive strength chosen use in mixes. Secondly, mix (slag, ash, metakaolin) replacement ratio 40% 50%. Properties studied flowability, strength, flexural water absorption, dry density, ultra-sonic plus velocity test, results show as partial for decreased flowability increased superplasticizer dosage. From can conclude workability dosage superplasticizers 1.8% at 50% cement. showed an increase 50.6% after replacing 10% 7 days 17.35% 15% slag, metakaolin, while 26.47% same percent 10.4% materials. absorption 28.75% increasing density slightly from 1.2% 0.33% compared control mix. UPV test result 5.4% mixes, when it 5.7% 5.2%, respectively, 28 days.
